UW OSHKOSH CHANCELLOR TO SPEAK AT JANUARY TELTalk EVENT

Oshkosh Area United Way (OAUW) is pleased to announce UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt will be the featured speaker at the quarterly Today’s Emerging Leader Talk (TELTalk) at noon Wednesday, January 12, at Culver Family Welcome Center on the UW Oshkosh campus.

TELTalk is a series of seminars conducted by business and nonprofit leaders discussing how their organizations positively impact the community.

“When the pandemic hit, it was crucial we did whatever it took to protect our students, employees and community,” said Leavitt. “Our team’s innovative approach toward tracking, treating and containing the virus earned our campus and region national attention.”

Leavitt’s TELTalk, Steering into the Waves: UWO’s Collaborative Course Through COVID-19, will highlight how the 150-year-old institution leaned on the knowledge of its faculty and scientists, the expertise of public health and nurse professionals, and the skill of its data-centric public safety emergency commanders, in collaboration with regional healthcare testing/vaccination specialists and executive leaders, to successfully navigate through the pandemic.

“I look forward to sharing how our partnerships deepened during this challenging time through support from and research with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Surgeon General of the United States and other key Wisconsin stakeholders,” Leavitt said.
