Oshkosh Area United Way Celebrates the Community

OSHKOSH, Wis. – On March 4, 2021, the Oshkosh Area United Way held its annual Community Celebration, sponsored by Rhyme Business Products, to celebrate a year of giving. Oshkosh Area United Way holds its Community Celebration to recognize what its supporters have done for the community through their talents and passion! The annual event took place virtually over Zoom thanks to the Oshkosh Corporation video team. The 2020 Campaign Co-Chairs, Bryan Brandt and Andy Leavitt, hosted the event, celebrating the hard work and dedication of generous workplaces and individual donors.

Chief Marketing Officer of Oshkosh Corporation, Bryan Brandt, spoke on the past year’s community impact. “The Oshkosh United Way celebration is an opportunity to recognize the successes of our business leaders, campaign chairs and our community for the great work they have done,” Brandt said. “I am amazed by how the community stepped forward to “Be bold for one another” and ensure that our nonprofit partners could continue to help those in need.”

Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Andrew Leavitt, had the honor to announce the final amount of funds raised, over $1.4 million, by the Oshkosh Area United Way campaign. “It’s great to see this kind of support for our community and know that this all goes toward changing lives across the greater Oshkosh area,” said Leavitt.

Chancellor Leavitt also awarded the most generous workplaces in the area with recognition plaques, sponsored by Oshkosh Trophy. Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, Bergstrom Automotive and Oshkosh Corporation won top honors based on their contributions and company size. Amcor Flexibles North America also received awards for their increased contributions in overall dollars and participation.

Representatives from United Way funded programs also spoke at the Community Celebration, detailing the positive impact they have seen in the community as residents gave their time, talents and resources to the United Way mission during the pandemic.

The CEO and President of Bergstrom Automotive, John and Tim Bergstrom, were also in attendance to give away a new car to one lucky donor. A 2020 Chevy Spark, sponsored by Bergstrom Automotive, was won by Mark Hunsader of Oshkosh Corporation.
