The Oshkosh Area United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. We are more than the fundraisers. We are the hand raisers. The game changers.
Oshkosh Area United Way (OAUW), a local nonprofit organization, was established in 1962 when the Chamber of Commerce, organized labor, and other community leaders came together to explore the benefits of a community-wide fundraising campaign.
More than five decades later, OAUW has evolved from those roots as a fundraising organization to a community convener which mobilizes local partners including businesses, community leaders, public officials, and residents, to identify community issues and solve problems.
Our focus is on three key building blocks, a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family and good health. OAUW helps to identify community needs, create solutions and fund local programs that deliver direct health and human services to the people in our community.
Why United Way?
Oshkosh Area United Way is a community collaborator bringing people and organizations together to create powerful partnerships that address issues and solve problems.
United Way's expertise is in uniting the community, problem-solving and driving collective action to amplify the power of the individual and achieve what no one person or organization can achieve alone.
When you invest in our community through United Way, you do more than you could alone. Your contribution is combined with thousands of others, magnifying and multiplying the power of your gift.
United Way changes lives for the better. When you invest in United Way, you help people. You feed hungry people. You help children grow and develop. You provide safety. You ensure that emergency services are there to help people rebuild their lives after a disaster.
Local and Efficient
All of the money raised stays right here in our community. And our United Way prides itself on keeping overhead costs low so that your gift to United Way goes directly to meet the needs of our community. This makes our community a great place to live, work, learn and play.
