OAUW Nonprofit Training Opportunities
At Oshkosh Area United Way, we believe strong nonprofits are essential to a strong community. In addition to connecting volunteers and collaborating on key community issues, we offer professional development opportunities to help nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers grow their skills and capacity. These free trainings are one more way we support the organizations doing vital work across southern Winnebago County—by investing in people, strengthening partnerships, and building a more connected, and resilient community.

It’s 2026! Is It Time for Your Volunteer Program’s Wellness Check-Up?
We’re partnering with Kristy Judd, national volunteerism expert and reDirect Coach, for an engaging, hands-on training designed to help you take a fresh look at how volunteers support your mission—and what may be getting in the way.
Does any of this sound familiar?
- You suspect there are unmet needs in your organization that volunteers could support, but you’re not sure where to start.
- You have long-standing volunteer roles that are valued yet may no longer be serving your mission as effectively.
- You hear from companies, service groups, or students looking for volunteer projects, but struggle to offer work that is both meaningful and realistic.
- You’re unsure whether your volunteers’ needs are truly being met.
If so, this session is for you.
Together, we’ll explore common barriers that limit volunteer impact and walk through practical ways to reassess volunteer positions and project needs—without overhauling your entire program. Through guided conversation and hands-on activities, you’ll gain clarity on small, intentional changes that can make a big difference.
What You’ll Walk Away With
- A clearer picture of your organization’s volunteer needs for 2026
- Greater confidence identifying and working through barriers that limit volunteer engagement
- Better-defined volunteer roles and project ideas—ready before the next request comes in
- Renewed energy for engaging volunteers in ways that truly support your mission
This interactive session is fun, collaborative, and practical, with ideas you can put into action right away—just in time for Day of Caring project submissions.
Registration for this free, 90-minute session is required and closes on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
Space is limited to 20 participants—please RSVP early to reserve your spot!
