Stuff the Truck

Can you believe that summer is nearly halfway over and the new school year just around the corner?  While the kids might not be ready yet, local parents are starting to think about school again and planning their school shopping trips. It is estimated that it costs $200 - $250 per child to provide the necessary supplies, clothing, shoes, and essentials for the school year.  Unfortunately, not every family in our community can afford everything they need to help their kids have a successful school year. That is why we need your help!
Once again we are partnering with our friends at UPS who will have a truck and driver outside of the Oshkosh Shopko waiting to be stuffed. Our goal is to fill this truck with new school supplies and hygiene items so the local children are all set for the upcoming school year.  All of the items collected will be given to the Community Back to School Fair (CBTSF). The CBTSF helps to provide school supplies, personal hygiene items, clothing, shoes, haircuts, and backpacks to area students. In 2017, more 1,000 area students were helped.
Remember how excited you were to have all the new supplies and the new outfit on that first day of school?  We want every child to be that excited, so students should not have to worry about not having that they need for a good start!  Children are important to our community and education is key to lifelong success.  Please help support our community by participating in our great event!  And, the timing could not be better.  This year, Wisconsin has established a TAX HOLIDAY for school-related supplies.  Beginning August 1 and continuing through August 5, many school supplies may be purchased without paying the sales tax(For a complete list please click here.)
