Day of Caring

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart.
– Elizabeth Andrew

Join us for an impactful day of community service! Each year, Oshkosh Area United Way hosts Day of Caring, one of the largest organized volunteer events in the area. Day of Caring is our opportunity to rally hundreds of volunteers for a transformative experience. Taking part in Day of Caring is a great way for anyone of any age to lend a helping hand to amazing organizations that are strengthening the communities where we live and work.

Join us on Wednesday, May 8, and be part of something bigger. We invite area residents, students, families, and employees to spend a half-day volunteering at our Day of Caring event. Register by Friday, April 19, to secure your spot! The week of April 22, we will email all volunteers details about their assigned projects!

A few examples of Day of Caring volunteer projects from past years include:
  • Basic gardening, landscaping, yard or grounds cleanup
  • Cleaning and organizing
  • Paint prep and painting
  • Assisting seniors with various tasks like moving furniture to vacuum, cleaning ceiling fans and light fixtures, etc.
  • Assembling 5K participant packets
  • Various skilled-based tasks (assisting with proofreading, social media strategy, reviewing HR handbooks, etc.)

Start your day right with a complimentary breakfast buffet at Oshkosh Convention Center at 8 a.m. and inspiring speakers before you head out to your assigned project sites from 9 a.m. to noon. The Verve Energy Station, sponsored by Verve, a Credit Union, will provide water and snacks throughout the morning.

All volunteers will receive a free United Way T-shirt.
