Oshkosh Area Community Foundation makes up one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy in the United States today. Community Foundations build and strengthen communities by making it possible for a wide range of donors to participate in creating permanent endowment funds to meet present and future needs. Across all Oshkosh business units, giving back to the community has been and continues to be a priority. Whether it's making a monetary donation or working with students, these charitable events and donations are only a small fraction of everything that we do.

Supporting programs to benefit the Oshkosh community has been an Oshkosh Rotary Club hallmark from its earliest days.  Those early projects included programs with the Oshkosh Normal School (now UWO), the Salvation Army, and the Boy Scouts; sponsoring a dental clinic at the high school; and setting up gardening and landscaping classes.

Oshkosh Southwest Rotary is proud to participate in a large number of venues and projects within our community. Within the community service avenue of service Southwest Rotarians build and run projects to serve as fundraisers for Rotary efforts, and to have direct impact within our community.

In 1951, Co-founder Alberta Kimball established the Foundation, a perpetual fund that supports charitable, scientific, literary and educational institutions and organizations in the Oshkosh area. The Silver Star Brands Foundation donates more than $100,000 to over 30 organizations each year.

At the same time, it helps United Way keep administrative costs down and allows us to thank, recognize, educate and train donors and volunteers, without incurring additional expenses.
