Oshkosh Area United Way is seeking volunteers for the 21th Annual Day of Caring. The United Way Day of Caring is Friday, April 1, 2016. Deadline to volunteer is March 18, 2016.
United Way Day of Caring, a celebration of the power of volunteerism in Oshkosh unites local volunteers with projects at nonprofit organizations in Oshkosh. A dedicated group of volunteers accomplish tasks which nonprofits do not have the resources to tackle, but are imperative to their continued success in our community.
This year’s Day of Caring on April 1, sponsored by BMO Harris Bank and LaSure’s Banquet Hall, will be a day of community with local businesses offering a team building opportunity to their employees by volunteering as a group and families spending the last day of spring break making an impact in our community. Volunteering is a great way to bolster team spirit, increase morale, interact with the community, and provide a great connection with greater understanding of how a commitment of time and talents makes a difference.
The Day of Caring unites people of all ages who want to make Oshkosh a great place to live and work. United Way offers this opportunity for people to come together, identify community needs, create lasting solutions, and fund programs to make sure everyone has opportunities for success.
At the 2015 Day of Caring, 150 volunteers completed 76 projects for 16 local nonprofits valued at $16,335 in volunteer hours and positively impacted countless people in our community.
Current projects include: cleaning, painting, smoke detector installation and litter collection.
