ONE DAY. ONE GOAL. ONE COMMUNITY.
Oshkosh United Way is pleased to announce BMO Harris and La Sure’s Banquet Hall return as sponsors for the 21st Annual Day of Caring on April 1, 2016.
The United Way Day of Caring, a celebration of the power of volunteering in Oshkosh, brings together local volunteers with projects for local nonprofits that accomplish tasks the nonprofits do not have the resources to tackle. The 76 projects completed last year by 150 volunteers for 16 local nonprofits, valued at $16,335 in volunteer hours, made a huge impact on the nonprofit community.
Local companies offer the opportunity to their employees to volunteer as a group. It’s a great way to increase team spirit and increase morale while providing employees with an opportunity to interact in the community and gain a greater understanding of how a commitment of time and money makes a difference.
Day of Caring is also a great spring break activity for the family to volunteer and share the benefits of community involvement.
For more information or to volunteer please visit www.oshkoshunitedway.org/dayofcaring. Registration deadline is March 18, 2016.
Examples of projects include: smoke detector installation, spring cleaning for Seniors, litter pick up on Main Street, literacy library set up and mentoring youth.
Please join us for the 21st Day of Caring. We will kick off the day at La Sure’s Hall, 3125 S. Washburn, Oshkosh at 7:30am for volunteer check-in and volunteer breakfast.
